Spectrum Coatings - PACKING & SHIPPING YOUR MIRROR SAFELY

  • Turn Around Time - At least 30 days.

  • Payment - Personal check or PayPal.

  • Shipping Method - UPS, FedEx, USPS - Spectrum uses UPS for return shipping.

  • Packing Material and Correspondance - *See Pics below.  Please write the size of your mirror, (with a magic marker), on the top - outside of your box. Please place a check or money order made out to Spectrum Coatings, and letter of correspondence in an envelope in the top of the box where the box is to be opened, readily accessible. We will not ship any coated mirror until we have received payment. Include return shipping address, what you would like the mirror insured for, phone number, etc. No P.O. Box addresses. UPS does not ship to P.O. Box numbers.

  • PLEASE DO NOT USE ANY "POPCORN". IT IS VERY MESSY AND TIME CONSUMING TO CLEAN UP!

  • Remove mirrors from their mounts, also remove any inks, paint, adhesives or silicone chalk from any mirror. Note: Sharpie index, alignment and f-number marks are ok. I will not wipe them clean. I know they are important.

  • Sometimes customers actually do not include ANY letter or information in the box. Nothing can be done but for me to wait until the customer calls or emails wondering where their mirror is.

SAFE PACKING INSTRUCTIONS

  • The following packing method is by far the best way to pack and ship your mirror. If packed like what is described below, the mirror is very unlikely to be damaged in shipping ** (I often tell folks that you could drop the box off of your roof and not damage the mirror if packed this way!). The foam used below can be purchased at your local Home Depot, Lowe's, etc. It is usually available in 4' x 8' sheets. The cost is minimal when compared to a mirror that becomes damaged due to poor packing.

Using pencil & Knife - cut out the circle.
Place a blank square into the bottom of the box
Place the foam piece with the mirror hole on top of the foam on top of the blank square.
Place the mirror into the cut out circle. If you cut the circle in the proper manner, the mirror should fit very tight, with no chance of moving at all
Place the last piece of foam on top of the rest and seal the box with a quality sealing tape, tape that is strong. Seal along the main seam as well as the sides.
